Vikings: War of Clans Hero Sets

Players who are familiar with Vikings: War of Clans will know that, for what was initially a mobile game, it’s actually surprisingly detailed and nuanced. Although the basics of gathering resources, recruiting units, and levelling up are all fairly standard fare, constructing a clan and conquering a kingdom takes a lot of different strategies and cooperation. One of the more useful and unique aspects of the game is the hero Sets. We take a more detailed look at Vikings: War of Clans Hero Sets, what they’re used for, and how to construct them.

Vikings: War of Clans Hero Sets – What Are They?

The simplest way of explaining sets is as combinations of skills and equipment. Your hero takes on many different roles during the game, and the equipment and skills they use for each role differ somewhat. Rather than have to manually change out these various aspects, you can construct prefabbed sets for various scenarios.

Having multiple sets created gives you an easy and quick way of switching between combinations. This means that you’re prepared for most eventualities and you can maximise your hero’s effectiveness in these situations. The equipment and skills within these sets allows you to have the best, most relevant stats at any given time in the game.

Vikings: War of Clans Hero Sets – What Types Should You Have?

You’ll want to have several sets ready at any given time. However, as we’ll see, there are some restrictions on how many you can have at once. The main instances you’ll want to have sets for include:

Defending your town. When the enemy comes calling, you’ll want to have your defences at their maximum capacity. The right gear can bolster your defences to ward off attackers.

Attacking Invaders. If you want to take down enemy players, you’ll want to deal as much damage as possible.

Gathering resources. When you’re trying to maximise your economic output, the right set can give several advantages.

These are just some of the examples that you should prepare for and have sets for. As you get more familiar with the game, you’ll be able to experiment with what works for you particular play style.

Vikings: War of Clans Hero Sets – How to Use Them

It’s reasonably easy to manage your sets – once you know how. Below, we’ve outlined the instructions for managing your slots:

  • Enter the Hero’s Abode. Here, you’ll see a tab for Hero Sets. There will be several slots where you can save sets here. You’ll need Memory Points to save them, which can be purchased with gold or gained through passing checkpoints. There are 10 slots available to unlock.
  • Distribute your skill points. On the Hero’s Skills tab, you can spend the skill points you’ve earned when levelling up. In the Hero tab, you can also equip the armour and equipment that improves certain stats. Once you have the desired skills and equipment, go back to the Hero Sets tab and click ‘Save Set’. You can then name the set so you remember what it’s for.
  • To activate the sets you’ve created, you’ll need a Hero Set Activation item. You can either purchase this from the Item Store or through the Bank offers. In some instances, it will drop as a reward for completing Kingdoms Battles.
  • To apply a set, all you need to do is hit the ‘Activate’ button and everything will switch over.
  • You’ll notice that in the Hero Sets window, you’ll be able to see the various stats, skills, equipment, and bonuses of each set you’ve created. This is a really useful way of seeing which the most useful set for certain situations is.
  • If you want to free up a slot to create a new Hero Set, you can press the ‘Delete’ button to remove an existing one. This doesn’t delete the skills or equipment, just the saved combination. You can also edit existing slots by clicking the ‘Replace’ button.

Vikings: War of Clans Hero Sets – Notifications

As you play though the game, you’ll come across new gear and equipment, which may mean that you replace or alter some of your existing loadout. You may be wondering how this effects your Hero Sets. Well, lucking there are a couple of notifications:

  • Yellow border and exclamation mark. This means that some of the equipment in the set has changed. If you’ve added new gems to it, for example, the stats may be different than they were when you created the set.
  • Red border and exclamation mark. If you’ve deleted a piece of equipment from your inventory, you’ll get a notification showing that the set is now incomplete.

Vikings: War of Clans Hero Sets – Useful Configurations

There’s no right or wrong way to configure your Hero Sets. However, it can be difficult to know what kind of things to look out for when you’re first getting started. Thankfully, there are some tried and tested ways that you can approach your early Hero Sets.

There are two main sets that stand out early in the game. The first is a knowledge set and the second is one for building. These help you maximise two of the key areas of the early game. You can choose from the skills and equipment you already have, but for Knowledge you’ll want to include the Falcon Figurine. To increase your building speed, the Victor’s Bracelet is essential.

Other popular sets include:

  • Royal Guardsman’s Set – this configuration gives your Hero better stats for taking on attacking invaders.
  • Lynx’s Set – here, you can boost your troop stats when defending.
  • Saracen’s Set – this gives your troops a stat boost when you’re attacking.

There are variations on all of these sets depending on the type of enemies you’re fighting or the type of troops you’re working with.

Vikings: War of Clans Hero Sets – Final Words

Hero Sets are an essential part of Vikings: War of Clans. You should take the time to learn how they work and experiment with a few different sets. Early on, you’ll want to boost your knowledge, building, and military stats, but as the game progresses you can get more nuanced. Good luck, and have fun playing!
