Drakensang is a browser based online role playing MMORPG developed by Bigpoint Games Germany. Released in August 2011, the game is available for Windows and Apple OS and was in open beta mode until September 2012. The game can be played online or bought depending on user preference.
The game is set in an imaginary world, Dracania, reminiscent of medieval age Europe. The landscape comprises of eleven regions, comprising of cities, dungeons, castles and unkempt wilderness. The player starts the game by choosing a character from one of four classes: Dragonknight, Ranger, Spell-weaver and Steam Mechinus, each of which has a special, unique set of skills and attributes. Each player can create up to 4 characters per account. The game offers the option of playing alone and as a team. Players can also form Guilds to form alliances and teams against mutual enemies.
The game has a currency system, comprising of virtual currency called Andermant, which can be used to purchase extra features to progress faster in the game. Players can buy weapons, upgrade items and gain teleportation powers. The money can be earned by taking part in missions, completing quests or buying it from the game store. Players take up weapons and powers against the terrifying monsters and dragons that have invaded the land of Dracania.
The gaming Forum give players a chance to form alliances, build teams for survival, agree on battle strategies and find rivals to fight against in the PvP mode.
