Goodgame Empire is a free to play Multiplayer Strategy game that is developed and published by Goodgame Studios. The game was launched in 2011 and is largely 2D, available on the browser as Empire and IOS and Android as Empire: four kingdoms.

The game is set in a medieval world where players take on the role of a Lord who must carry out the duty of building a fortress that can house troops and civilians. Players must be careful to balance the energy of their fortresses and make it habitable for both parties. To keep the residents happy, layers have to constantly decorate the fortress and update the décor. Players earn money within the game by collecting the coins generated by the buildings and levying taxes from the residents.

Other than managing the fortress and keeping it up to date, players also need to maintain their troops and attack other empires to expand their territory. Players battle other players to gain each other’s resources and land. The game also offers a myriad of daily missions, challenges and quests that help players collect points and advance through the game.

The forums of Goodgame Empires enable players to find opponents to attack, gain ideas to update fortress design, devise and discuss expansion and battle strategies.
