Star Trek Online is an MMORPG or massively multiplayer online role-playing game from Cryptic Studios. The action takes place in the 25th century, three decades after Star Trek: Nemesis, after the alliance between the Klingon Empire and United Federation of Planets has broken up. It was first issued in 2010. Players are given access to the captain’s chair as well as control of their own crew and starship. They can explore odd new worlds, new life and civilisations in an ever-expanding universe. Star Trek Online is a free-to-play game that enables players to explore some of Star Trek’s most iconic environments as well as unexplored star systems and contact new alien species.

Players can interact with allies, battle enemies and delegate assignments, whilst advancing in rank and earning a host of special rewards and accolades. Ships can be customised via Total Customization technology, and unique alien species can be created by anyone. Furthermore, new missions and stories can be created via The Foundry and a specialised toolset. Custom missions can be created and new episodes can be designed from scratch. What’s more is that you can join with as many as 20 players to complete vast space and ground missions together.
