The highly-rated Tera is an action MMORPG which combines the depth of MMOs with the exhilarating of the finest action games. The game was first released in South Korea in 2011 and was renamed Tera: Rising when the free-to-play model was unveiled. Features include PvP action, questing and crafting and requires players to dodge whole host of enemy attacks.

There are seven races to choose from, with each race having its own series of “racial skills” that give them modest advantages. There are currently 12 classes, each of which boasts its own attributes, skills and abilities. A currency called “Chronoscrolls” enables players to buy game time with real money and sell it in exchange for real-time gold, though it can only be used by those who have bought the game physically or digitally and not in the Discovery Edition. The game was again renamed Tera: Fate of Arun in 2014.

The game involves thousands of quests that span some four continents and 80 vast zones, with players taking on all manner of creatures and monsters including so-called BAMS (“big-ass monsters”), terrifying races focussed on apocalyptic destruction and vicious gods. Classes include Berserker, Mystic, Ninja and Priest, to name but a few. There are many different facial and hairstyles to choose from, enabling players to truly personalise their characters. They can even add accessories and costumers and dye their armour.
