Dark Genesis: A browser experience
Dark Genesis was discovered initially as a random pick from a list of games i wanted to try. You start off with 1 character, and very quickly progress throughout the early game unlocking multiple heroes and bombarded with loot. Its a quirky, anime style game with different world selections so you dont get bored of the same scenery all the time. Constant battles keep you on your toes and fingers its almost hard to keep up with! The early game prompts are a big help in learning the curve and pace of the game at an early stage. Its important to keep an eye on upgrading your heroes with gear, experience and any other bonuses they may encounter along the way. Although the screen may seem slightly oversaturated at first, there is a reason for almost everything and you will learn as you progress further into the game. Lots of prizes and gear to claim and you will find yourself constantly digging through your bag of loot for new things to equip and keep your heroes strong. Dont give up!
Still currently progressing through the early stages of the game, the enjoyment factor is higher than anticipated. I can see the potential is there for future updates and plenty of additional content. Many things could be added into the game, such as new heroes, characters, items, upgrades, gear, cosmetics, maps, enemies, and many, many more. The potential is limitless. The only issues i would see with this is it being a browser game and having limited space to be able to run all of this content. As many games have done before though, i don't see why a sequel would not be possible.
Although having pay to win aspects, don't let that distract you from the fact that it is entirely playable free to play (currently where i have progressed to anyways). I'd like to see there be less options for money transactions for bonuses as it can deter casual players. Having a friends list is a great addition, being able to play with your friends is something most games should accommodate for.
Recommended for any ages who enjoy a casual, sit-back and relax browser clicking game with rewarding character progression and many enemies to fight along the way. Many fights are quite similar from the start of the game, until you start getting past the first few levels. Bosses start arriving and they tend to get a bit harder. As long as you constantly upgrade your heroes you shouldn't have much issues. XP rewarding is quite generous as is the gems/currency rewards. I am yet to understand a few things, but more will be revealed in my next review. So far Dak Genesis is a game i could get behind in the future, but is not a type of game im used to playing on a daily basis. It reminds me of the typical classic browser games i played as a kid, so the nostalgia factor is definitely there. If there were any pieces of advice i would give the game, it would be: Add more variety of characters at the beginning, reduce pay to win aspects, make the interface more user friendly for casual gamers, and dont over-sexualize the female characters. All in all, a decent browser game.
