Deemo nintendo switch review

Deemo is a rhythm game that came out in 2013 and was imported to switch. It is similar to other rhythm games on the market like Piano Tiles and Taiko no tatsujin. However the key noticeable differences can be seen in the indie hand drawn esque graphics as well as the overall play style, mainly the lack of a fail option. This in my opinion makes this game a more relaxed version designed for down time playing instead of competitive action packed stimulating games. One of the perks of this game is a huge variety of songs to choose from making it almost impossible to be bored of them as there is almost always something new to play for days on end. Each of these songs also comes with unique cover art centring around the characters in game making this game very pleasing to look at and memorable despite it being very much on the cheaper side for a game that clearly has so much effort invested into its creation. The controls are very much simple as you tap, slide or press buttons to hit notes on time.

There is 3 level options you get: easy, medium or hard and can adjust speed and other options at will. This allows you to adjust it for a more challenging experience or a more relaxed one depending on what you wish. There is also some plot while minimal it is very much beautiful and emotional to see and gives motivation to progress further into the game. There are also secret songs you can unlock by clicking on certain objects or simply playing further into the game. The only songs you cannot access by the end of the game is the ones that require the toy box controller to play however these songs are still available to play using the basic controls in different albums in the selection stage. Overall this game is definitely worth the price considering the sheer amount of material you are receiving. The song variety is also good in themes and tunes as they can vary from upbeat pop like tunes to more soothing melodies. This makes this game enjoyable no matter your general music tastes

One of the only downsides to this game is the lack of mainstream music. unlike taiko no tatsujin there is no mainstream music by popular artists and very few songs that actually contain lyrics. The majority of the songs however are still very nice to listen to and help expand your music taste. However if you are not interested in relaxing games or just overall hand drawn style games this may not be for you. In that case id recommend the remake deemo reborn as the graphics are closer to mainstream style of graphics you see in most games today. To conclude if you are looking for a rhythm game with a calming air and a overall serene yet emotional storyline i definitely would recommend you play this game especially due to its cheaper than average price and compelling style overall. There may be other similar games on the market such as piano tiles but they don't hold a candle compared to the beauty, elegance and sheer emotion and attention to drawing and creativity this game has to offer its players.
