Is world of tanks blitz worth it?
Lets take a moment to talk about the magical experience and game that is world of tanks or woT, we all know that this game is the pinacol of fun with tanks the game is beating out competitors such as war thunder in accuracy and quality, but how does the mobile version really measure up? well lets first start with the game and its basics, personally for a mobile game i found it took a long time to load and put a heavy strain on my phone with some instances the phone got unbearably hot, the game is also a whopping 7 gigabytes and takes up significant storage, so i recommend having a newer up too date phone for this game. I also found that the game needed strong internet and took a lot of battery power but i didn't find these things to be particularly problematic during my experience. The design of the UI and menus of the game were also easy to navigate as you would expect and similar to the PC version of the game, the tanks also felt similar to the pc version and they were displayed in the garage as you navigated the menu. There is a clan feature where friends can team up and platoon together in a fun multiplayer experience but i would like to see a future mode in which friends could go up against each other in friendly head to head matches.
So how well does it play?
Well the game is actually very enjoyable and can offer a very rewarding and challenging grind although much like the PC game once you've finished a certain countries line of tanks its hard to find motivation to start another line with a different country. Despite this the grind to that point is very enjoyable and will definitely keep you hooked. Another thing that is a great incentive to play is the battle pass and its free version which rewards players for leveling up and doing challenges as the season progresses, the seasons also include lots of exciting and fun collaborations with the current one at the time of writing being with teenage mutant ninja turtles, these collabs offer limited time skins for your tank and cosmetic items which are exciting and interesting and could keep you held on the game for seasons to come.
The Tanks are all realistic looking and are used on quality well structured maps that offer both cover and exciting engagements with enemy players but i have encountered minor technical or visual glitches with the game possibly due to weak connection to the server.
Finally the features and the main gameplay
First off i have to admit i had a lot of fun experiencing this game for the first time. As an ex- warthunder player i definitely found charm in the realistic tank gameplay, that could be played on your phone without the need to be at a pc or even your desk, but despite this there is a clear loop of gameplay where you continually go into similar online matches that can get repetitive after a long period of time and can become frustrating after continued losses or sometimes continued victories as sometimes enemies can feel not challenging enough! The online features of the game made it fun to play against other people but this did lead to a somewhat toxic community especially with my experience in European servers where harsh comments using the text chat feature was common.
In conclusion i fully recommend giving this game a go. It is fun charming and easy to get hooked on and despite its flaws i think it has a lot of potential for the future and i only see growth for this game and its community.
