Zoo 2: Animal Park Review

Zoo 2: Animal Park is a chill, family game that is potentially aimed at younger children as the graphics are slightly more basic and easier to understand. As the game begins, the dialect from the game does not help out to a great extent, in terms of not explaining how to complete certain actions. In contrast, it is fairly simple to pick up the general gist of the gameplay from the get go. The game starts you off with 7500 gold coins and 5 blue gems which can be used in the future levels to buy decorations for your zoo and even new enclosures and animals. This is a great starting point as it means you do not have to spend a long time on the game in order to get properly started. Every time you level up, you get gold coins, blue gems and possibly a piece of decoration. You also get access to new animals each time you level up which makes the game interesting to play and gives you an incentive to keep playing. The animals you start out with are basic (rabbit, horse and a goat) which is great as they are easy to look after and can slowly build up animals.

The graphics in the game are fairly simple compared to some other mobile games, however I think it is suitable for the target audience (as it is more suited to families and younger children). The graphics do not affect the quality of the game at all as it is still really easy to play and simple graphics can be more appealing in certain circumstances.I found it pretty confusing to navigate the game as it does not start out with a proper tutorial and there are quite a few buttons on the screen so it is difficult to know where to find anything. It did take a while to know where everything from the shop to the help buttons were situated however, when I pressed them a few times it got a bit easier to remember where everything was. I did, however, find that as I played a bit longer, there were quite a few adverts for in-game currency that popped up, sometimes consecutively. I think this may be a problem if younger children were playing the game as it is very easy to press on and could potentially cause them to buy something from the game.

Overall, I found this game very entertaining and I enjoyed playing for as long as I did. I had a very pleasant experience playing and I have very little problems when I first started off. The tasks that are given are really simple to complete, for example, cleaning out the enclosures or feeding and watering the animals and putting enrichment into their enclosures. Cleaning the enclosures only takes a swipe of a finger and to feed the animal you have to drag the feed either to the animal or to the food trough (and the same with the water). This is really goof as the game is for families and children so they would not have difficulty playing this game. There were not many negatives in terms of gameplay and tasks, however it was let down slightly by the amount of adverts for in-game currency and a slightly messy screen. However, this would not stop me playing or recommending this game in the future and I would happily play this game for hours just to see the zoo and the animals expand.
